Elda Fisher, DMD, MD, FACS
Meet Dr. Fisher
Dr. Elda Fisher, DMD, MD, is an oral surgeon, maxillofacial surgeon, and facial cosmetic surgeon. Originally from Northern California, Dr. Fisher earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University in 1999, majoring in neuroscience. She went on to obtain a Master of Science (MS) degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, a Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from New Jersey Dental School, and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
Following medical school, Dr. Fisher completed an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, both at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her residency training was focused on surgical treatment of facial trauma, craniofacial abnormalities, maxillofacial pathology, and routine oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures.
Dr. Fisher has presented original research at numerous national and international conferences, and has published more than 14 scholarly articles, including articles in the preeminent journal of her specialty. Dr. Fisher is the co-author of two upcoming textbook chapters on maxillofacial surgery and cosmetic surgery. She is a recipient of the Straumann Award for Research, as well as the recipient of the Chesny Kliner Humanitarian Award for her volunteer and community efforts.
Dr. Fisher’s practice at Village Family Dental includes routine oral surgery procedures including extraction of wisdom teeth, as well as cosmetic surgery procedures including facial rejuvenation procedures such as Botox(R) injections, dermal fillers, chemical peels, eyelid surgery, and cheek and chin implants.
Dr. Fisher is also fluent in Spanish.She enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She currently resides in Durham, NC area with her husband and their children Ruby, Indy, and Fitz.
