Meet Dr. Thakkar

Dr. Bhushan Thakkar is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered care. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 2020, following an earlier residency at Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur, India, in 2015. Dr. Thakkar is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the North Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.



He has extensive experience in a wide range of oral and facial surgical procedures, including wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, in-office sedation, facial trauma, infections, oral pathology, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Prior to relocating to Fayetteville, Dr. Thakkar served as an Assistant Professor of Oral and Facial Surgery at East Carolina University, where he treated patients with complex surgical needs. He joined Southeastern Dental Specialists in 2023. He is committed to staying current with advancements and takes time to educate patients and create personalized treatment plans.
